Bags
This was the beginning of the paper explorations. My intent had been to recreate an art school drawing exercise that involves placing an object in a paper bag and drawing it. I introduced vibrant colors by using theatrical gels on the studio lights. During the initial test shoots, I realized that photographing the empty paper bags resulted in strong edges that created dynamic shapes. This creates a fun visual juxtaposition for the viewer between the paper bag subject and the bold shapes of color created by the folds and angles.
